 This award-winning online companion to the America's Byways television series provides a content-rich interactive experience, and educational material for online and classroom use.
America's Byway—Historic Preservation
Created to preserve a distinct collection of American roads, their stories and treasured places—the National Scenic Byways Program has recognized 96 roads in 39 states as All-American Roads. Five of the byways in Colorado are featured in this multimedia project.
Consistent Design in all Media
The website follows graphic and color themes established in the television series. Streaming video, text, maps, photos, illustrations and timelines are used to dramatize the history, document the diverse cultural heritage, and showcase the natural beauty and recreational riches of these byways. Topics as well as the featured byways are the main themes of the navigational system. Visitors can explore archaeological and cultural history or go directly to current travel information and scenic highlights. |
